What this page is

A working draft of the cookies and local storage notice, written to save a lawyer time. It is not legal advice, it has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and it does not claim that Vale complies with any law. Text like [PLACEHOLDER: this] is unknown or undecided. Boxes marked "Drafting note" are for the owner and the lawyer.

The short version

Vale sets no cookies. It saves your plan and a few settings in your browser's local storage, and keeps a copy of its own files so it can start offline. Nothing in it is sent to Vale. There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

1. What is saved on your device

NameWhat it holdsWhyHow long
vale.v1 (local storage) Your language choice, your chosen payment-method label, which day and tab are open, a counter for example booking references, and for each day you planned: the text you typed to the agent, budget, group size, interests, the auto-booking switch and limit, the split switch, each item with its option and status, the activity log, and ticket flags. So your plan is still there when you come back. It is saved automatically as you use Vale. Until you clear it. "Start over" clears plans; clearing your browser's site data clears everything.
vale.orders.v1 (local storage) Orders made on the Payments page (simulated or test): order number, items, amounts, status, refunds, receipt data. So you can see your payment history and receipts. Until you clear it. Created only when you use the Payments page.
vale.map3d.v1 (local storage) "1" or "0": whether you chose the 3D street map or the simple map on My day. So the map you picked stays picked. Without it, My day shows the 3D street map. Until you clear it ("Clear all my data" in Settings). Created only when you switch maps.
vale.probe (local storage) The value "1", written and removed straight away. To find out whether your browser allows storage, so Vale can warn you that a plan will not be kept. Milliseconds.
vale-shell-v2 (Cache Storage) and a service worker Copies of Vale's own files (pages, styles, scripts, example data, icons) and of the pages of this site you open, including these legal pages. So the app starts when you are offline. The service worker only handles files from this site and never caches other sites. Until a new version replaces it or you clear site data.

2. What is not on this list

3. Why there is no cookie banner (draft position)

The draft position is that everything above is needed to give you the service you asked for (a plan that stays saved, an app that starts offline) or only remembers a choice you made (your language), so no consent is asked. The information is still shown here. Lawyer [PLACEHOLDER: confirm that saving a plan automatically counts as a service explicitly requested, and that no banner is needed]

If analytics, advertising or anything not strictly needed is added later, a consent choice will be needed first, with refusing as easy as accepting.

4. How to remove it

Use "Start over" in Vale to clear plans, or clear this site's data in your browser settings (look for "Cookies and site data"). That also removes the service worker's copies.

Drafting note (remove before any launch)

Spanish rules (LSSI, article 22.2) cover storing or reading information on a device in general, not only cookies, and the AEPD cookie guide says it covers similar technologies. Exemptions exist for what is strictly needed for a service the person asked for and for interface choices the person made. EU-level changes to cookie rules were proposed in November 2025 and I could not confirm whether they have been adopted. See legal/03-regulatory-map.md, area 2.
